چکیده

The outer contours of living trees are often considered as a standard circle during non-destructive testing (NDT) internal defects using ground-penetrating radar (GPR). However, the detection classical cross-sections (circular) lacks consideration irregular contours, making it difficult to accurately locate image target. In this paper, we propose method based on affine transformation and Riemann mapping principle analyze effect routes geometric characteristics target reflection hyperbola. First, for similar output phenomenon in “hyperbola fitting”, analysis numerical simulation were performed. Then, conversion trunk images physical domain was implemented principle. Finally, influence geometry curve investigated detail through simulations actual experiments. measurement results demonstrated that study could better reflect imaging hyperbola under pattern. This provides assistance further prevents misjudgment targets result hyperbolic distortion, resulting greater prospect application.

Application of Ground-Penetrating Radar for Detecting Internal Anomalies in Tree Trunks with Irregular Contours

To assess the health conditions of tree trunks, it is necessary to estimate the layers and anomalies of their internal structure. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the internal part of tree trunks considering their irregular contour. In this respect, we used ground penetrating radar (GPR) for non-invasive detection of defects and deteriorations in living trees trunks. The Hilbe...

Subsurface Imaging using Ground-Penetrating Radar Measurements

Much work has been done toward reconstructing the electrical parameters of an unknown buried object. Many methods, and accompanying results from simulations, have been presented. Most research in the area, however, has been in developing imaging algorithms that have been tested primarily through computer simulation. This paper presents a newly constructed facility for ground-penetrating radar e...

Compressive sensing for subsurface imaging using ground penetrating radar

The theory of compressive sensing (CS) enables the reconstruction of sparse signals from a small set of non-adaptive linear measurements by solving a convex ‘1 minimization problem. This paper presents a novel data acquisition system for wideband synthetic aperture imaging based on CS by exploiting sparseness of pointlike targets in the image space. Instead of measuring sensor returns by sampli...

Ground-Penetrating Radar

Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) has recently gained a wide acceptance in the archaeological community as a method that can quickly and accurately locate buried archaeological features, artifacts, and important cultural strata in the near-surface. The GPR method has been especially effective in certain sediments and soils between about 20 cm and 5 m below the ground surface, where the targets to ...

Robotic Subsurface Mapping Using Ground Penetrating Radar

The goal of our research is to develop an autonomous robot for subsurface mapping. We are motivated by the growing need for mapping buried pipes, hazardous waste, landmines and other buried objects. Most of these are large scale mapping problems, and to manually construct subsurface maps in these cases would require a significant amount of resources. Therefore, automating the subsurface mapping...
